The Valley Forge Rug Braiding Guild is a group of about 30 women (and an occasional man) who are passionate about the wonderful art and craft of making braided rugs. Most of us are from Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Maryland.
We meet about 5 times a year in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, to share our rugs and have fun with friends. See the “Meetings” page for our next gathering.
Once a year we host a braid conference, “The Valley Forge Guild’s Spring Braid In,” at the St. Francis Retreat in Bethlehem, PA. People come together from mostly the mid-Atlantic states and New England, but also from Canada, California, Atlanta, Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, and Oregon. We often have a speaker, and we have classes for Beginning Braiders to Advanced. See the “Braid In” page for more information.
For more information about the guild, write to Christine Manges at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To inquire about finding a braider who lives near you, write to the “Rug Braider’s Database” run by Dianne Tobias at email@example.com. She will be able to pull up information about other braiders who live in your area and have registered with Dianne. No information is shared with anyone other than rug braiders.
